Deb finally came around…
She called a few days ago, and asked “How do I make Google my home page?”
If you haven’t used the Google Tools, the Google home page is a great place to begin implementing, and is where Deb is starting her introduction to all things Google.
Google Tools are a great resource and are always on the recommended list.
- Making Google your home page is a great time saver:
- Google search is conveniently located in the center of the page
- Advanced Search
- Language Tools < —— handy if you need to translate languages
- Easy access to more of the Google tools and Settings
- Fewer distractions than most homepages
- Remain focused on what you are there for
- None of the latest gossip, fashions, horoscopes or news
- Google search is conveniently located in the center of the page
To make Google your homepage is a simple task and can be accomplished in less time than it will take you to read this blog post 
There are several ways to make Google my home page, depending on which browser you use…
The one way that should work with all browsers is to set your home page in the Internet Options of the Control Panel.
To find your Control Panel, click on the start button in the bottom left of your screen. The Control Panel option should be on the right side of the menu. Click on it 
a window will open…
Your computer settings panel is arranged in alphabetical order. Click on Internet Options.
Another window will open – called Internet Properties.
In the General Tab at the top, there is an area called Home Page… put the url for Google in the box – http://www.google.com/
Click the OK button and you now have Google as your home page.
