Do you wish your life was simpler?

If you have ever said to yourself, I feel like:

• I spend most of my day chasing my tail

So what is elegant code? and what does it have to do with living on purpose?

Code is the language of computers and technology.

There are many languages. HTML is probably one you recognize. JAVA Script, CSS, C++, and Visual Basic, are a few others.

Elegant code is written by doing more with less.

For example:

if(0 == x) {
y = 0;
} else {
y = 1;
}

and

y = (0 <x);    does all the above

In the one line of code you accomplish all that you would in the five above.

They call it elegant because it is simple, beautiful and authentic.

Like elegant code, there are many ways to integrate tools and systems that allow you to do more with less effort.

The Google calendar is one tool that does more with less effort.

• Set appointments and schedules
• Receive reminders via: Email, SMS (texted) to your cell phone, and/or Pop-up’s on your computer
• Integrates with online appointment setters
• Integrates with most smart phones

The Google calendar lets you create many different calendars in one.

You can create and share different calendars for the kid’s schedules, the bills, your personal appointments, the office appointments, birthdays, etc.

The reminders are excellent, especially for those people who need more than one. The Google calendar gives you many ways to get your reminders delivered to you and as often as you need reminding. The reminders can be delivered by email, SMS or a pop-up on your computer.

If your business requires you to set appointments to meet with your clients and customers, there are online appointment setting applications that will integrate with your Google calendar. You set your office hours, and these applications allow the client to choose their appointment time from the available times schedule you have created. When the appointment is confirmed by you, the client gets a confirmation, your Google calendar gets marked as busy and reminders are set for you, and the client gets a reminder too. And… when you set an appointment on your personal Google calendar, it removes the time slot from your appointment setter.

Many smart phone calendar apps integrate with the Google calendar. When set up correctly, your appointments sync. Make an appointment on your phone it gets put into your Google calendar. Make an appointment online and it gets transferred to your phone.

Tools and systems, like elegant code, integrate simply.

They allow you to do more with less…
less time… less effort… less money…
